DIY Candle KIT: instructions
The kit includes:
- Wood wicks (x3)
- Soy wax (240g)
- Fragrance oil
- Candle jar (x3)
- Dried flower
- Safety sticker (x3)
What you'll need:
- A small pot or a masson jar (to melt the wax)
- A larger pot (to make a double boiler)
- Hot plate or electric stove
- Wood or silicone spoon for stirring
- Parchment paper to protect your work surface
Instructions:
- The wick is already cut to desired length.
- Prepare your workspace with some parchment paper
- Fill your small jar with the soy wax
- Place your large pot on the stove and fill it halfway with water. Then, place the small pot on top to make a double boiler, turn the heat to medium, and keep an eye on it. In order to keep a high quality soy wax, do not turn up the heat to make it melt faster. Stir the wax as it melts with your spoon.
- Once melted, let sit for 1min. During that time, anchor wicks to bottom of mason jars using a bit of wax. To do so: drip the bottom of the wick in the melted soy wax (the metal part) and place it in the jar. Make sure to place it in the center of the jar.
- Once the minute is over, the wax should still be liquid and warm. If the wax is cold, warm it again over low-medium heat for a few minutes. Add the fragrance and stir well. Amount depends on your preference but I recommend using all the 24ml for the 3 candles.
- Pour wax into your 3 jars with equal amont. Let sit for 5 min and then add the flowers on the top.
- Let solidy completely before using the candle. I recommand letting the candle sit for at least 24h (the best would be one week for the wax to cure)
I will offer a refill option for you, if you would like to make again your candles once they are empty.
